Register your trademark in Switzerland at a fixed price

If the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property finally refuses to register your trademark, we refund 50% of our fee. The IPI’s official fee is not refunded by the Institute.

A trademark distinguishes a company’s goods or services from those of its competitors. In Switzerland, a name, slogan or logo can be registered if it is distinctive and meets the legal requirements.

Registration protects your sign in Switzerland for the specified goods and services. It allows you to defend your rights against infringing uses. Protection lasts ten years from filing and can be renewed.

The ™ symbol indicates that a sign is used as a trademark, but does not prove registration. ® indicates a registered trademark; use it only if your trademark has a valid registration in Switzerland. These symbols are optional and do not replace filing.

It depends on the likelihood of confusion and the goods or services concerned. The IPI does not check for conflicts with earlier trademarks during filing. A registered trademark can therefore be challenged. Have earlier rights reviewed before filing.

For an electronic filing, the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property (IPI) charges CHF 350 for ten years and up to three classes of goods or services. It is already part of our CHF 599 total (CHF 249 fee incl. VAT + IPI fee). Additional fees apply beyond three classes; we tell you before filing.

A Swiss registration does not automatically protect your trademark abroad. The Madrid System lets you request protection in selected territories through the IPI and WIPO. Our support starts at CHF 400 excluding VAT, plus official fees depending on the countries and classes.

Choose a distinctive sign that does not simply describe your business. Check trademarks protected in Switzerland, company names and domain names. Entry in the commercial register does not replace trademark registration.

No. You may use a sign without filing it, but registration makes trademark protection easier. It remains essential to check that your use does not infringe third-party rights.

Use your trademark for the registered goods and services, keep evidence of use and monitor new filings. Extended non-use can put your rights at risk. Renew protection before the ten-year period ends and keep your contact details up to date with the IPI.

A search limited to identical names can miss signs that look or sound similar. As the IPI does not check earlier rights, this analysis helps identify potential conflicts with trademarks protected in Switzerland. It is included in our CHF 599 package.
